Carpobrotus Rossi - 14cm

Carpobrotus rossii, known as karkalla or native pigface, is a low Australian groundcover with fleshy leaves, bright daisy-like flowers and a spreading coastal habit. It is excellent for sunny banks, coastal gardens, erosion-prone areas and broad groundcover plantings where tough coverage is more useful than height. Mature plants stay low, generally under 15cm, while spreading to around 1 to 2m when conditions suit. The succulent foliage handles exposed sites well and the plant also has a long history of traditional edible use, although customers should only consume plant material when identity and growing conditions are appropriate.
