Banksia Serrata - 20cm

Banksia serrata, the old man banksia or saw banksia, is a substantial Australian native tree with rugged bark, serrated foliage and large cylindrical flower spikes that provide strong habitat and landscape value. It is a natural choice for coastal and native gardens, larger properties and feature planting where a long-lived tree can develop its distinctive character. The flowers attract nectar-feeding birds and other wildlife, while the persistent cones add texture after flowering. Mature trees can reach around 4 to 10m high and wide, so it needs genuine space rather than being treated as a small suburban shrub.
