Alpinia Caerulea - 20cm

Alpinia caerulea is an Australian native ginger that brings broad, lush foliage and a relaxed subtropical feel to shaded and semi-shaded gardens. It develops as a clumping perennial, making it useful beneath trees, beside sheltered paths, in rainforest-style planting and around outdoor living areas where softer greenery is wanted. Established clumps can provide good visual bulk without forming a woody shrub. Its leafy habit combines particularly well with ferns, palms and other moisture-loving plants in protected garden positions.
